Ms & psoriasis - any experiences??

Anyone else have both psoriasis and ms?? What treatment did you opt for? Have been offered kesimpta but read the b cell depleting therapies can exacerbate psoriasis and don’t want it to get worse… Also read that it appears having psoriasis slows down ms progression…think it’s something to do with the different T cells involved in each condition. I’m wondering whether to go on a less effective ms treatment that also helps with psoriasis but it would be good to get other people’s experiences here.

Hey, I was on Adalizumab medication for psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis before developing ms. The psoriasis was completely gone, nail psoriasis gone, arthritis completely under control but had to stop because it makes ms worse. Now it's all back and I'm on tysabri. Rheumatology want me to start injectable methotrexate but I was told there is very little they can do about both. They can successfully treat one but not the other and the drugs which do treat both are not as effective for either. I am still doing my own research as I'm newly diagnosed with ms but apparently it is rare to have two immunocompromised conditions so I guess that's why they have told me this. I want to be referred back to dermatology but trying to work full time and attend three clinics for hospital appointments is just a logistical nightmare, so I haven't asked. I feel like I've been no help at all here, sorry!

My neurologist actually suggested Dimethyl fumarate which was originally a psoriasis treatment but works on ms too as it’s an anti inflammatory drug - something to do with dampening down b cells somehow. I’m no scientist! I’m surprised you were told they couldn’t do something for both as apparently this drug does just that. I’m in two minds as want to take the most effective treatment but also want to keep my psoriasis under control. Yeah I mean the amount of appointments is insane isn’t it?!
