Steroids - ok to take them at the moment?

I’m currently relapsing whilst on Ocrelizumab. How bad do my symptoms have to be to take the risk of having steroids now, and further reduce my immunity?
@Stumbler

@KatFlowers , you might find that some IV Steroids were infused as part of the Ocrelizumab administration protocol. Anyway, you should be talking to your MS Nurse in the first instance. They will want to eliminate "other causes" of this relapse before they can consider Steroid treatment. The following might help to explain :- https://mstrust.org.uk/about-ms/ms-symptoms-and-relapses/managing-relapses

I agree with Stumbler that your Neuro makes the call on when steroids are helpful as it is only when you are having active inflammation visible in an enhancing lesion. That is the only time my Neuro would prescribe steroids for me and it is a massive crazy dose over a matter of several days of infusions. You can research more online about the long term effects and effectiveness of this treatment approach. I believe most of it will side to they don't make the end results of the attack any less damaging but they do shorten the duration. Whenever I had one going on I was always just relieved to receive the steroids and have the impact quickly dampened however I was never having one during a pandemic and concerned about that as well ;-/
