In Eastern cultures, the concept of interdependence is much more prominent than in the West, where we value individual independence. It’s worth noting that your view of self-determination may be shaped and heavily influenced by your cultural heritage. How does your cultural background view people who need assistance with aspects of daily life? People with depression? Anxiety?
