Falling over
Hello. Hope everyone is doing ok.
Does anyone else have an issue with falling over? I don’t have problems with mobility and apart from nerve pain in hands and feet and fatigue, I’m generally fine. But. I keep sodding falling over.
I try to keep fit and active - I run regularly and go to the gym. But in the last 2 months I’ve fallen over 4 time whilst exercising. Three times on runs and once off a treadmill. 🤦♀️
I also had a phase about 2/3 years ago when I did the same all the damn time.
My ms nurse reckons it’s probably motor fatigue from when I’m too hot/ too tired. But does anyone else do the same? And if so, what have you found if anything that helps you stay upright??
It’s driving me mad. Not least because it really bloody hurts!

Well the good news is you’re still up, mobile and running! I am too and even made a fool of myself in a charity football match recently which is helping me learn just how much of my coordination and balance has gone, even if I can manage straight lines walking! I’ve been lucky so far, just a few tumbles and mostly when I couldn’t correct a slip or changed direction faster than my feet could manage. The day I fell over on the school dog walk is still legendary! As long as you aren’t hurting yourself too much or breaking bones then I think you are doing brilliantly. No magic answers I’m afraid…the usual diet and supplement advice I guess but none of it makes a big difference…I’m trying to learn to enjoy my staggers and tilts and so far, touch wood, nothing broken!
@Gem1 Any chance you could get a couple of sessions with an occupational therapist? I think there are several on YouTube, check out this lady: https://www.youtube.com/@DoctorGretchenHawley
