Monthly blood monitoring

I'm due to do my blood monitoring next week (after 3rd round of Lemtada 9 months ago). Last month my white blood cells were high (GP called but he did say that looking at previous months my results were erratic). I have not felt that I have had an infection but GP wants to keep an eye on things. I'm doing well MS wise and only going out once a week with my 15 yo daughter to go food shopping. I don't want to burden the NHS at the moment with my blood tests but at the same time I know that blood monitoring is important. I'm also worried about going to the blood clinic because of the current covid-19 crisis. Not sure what to do. Before I email my MS nurse, your opinions are very welcome. Thank you 😄

@elsa75 , it's understandable that you are concerned. But, whilst there is a risk of Covid-19, there is also a risk that your bloods may show something that needs to be addressed. It's comforting that your GP is on the ball for looking after you. I'd be guided by the Blood Clinic and get their advice. And, if you do go, then practice the general advice, wash your hands and don't touch your face, etc..

@Elsa75

@stumbler Thank you for your advice. It was what I was thinking but it's good to get other's point of view. I will go online to check appointment availability for next week and follow it up with a call to ensure all is ok to go. Thanks again and keep well. 😊
