Gilenya bad skin cancer
Hi looking for a little advice.
Have been taking Gilenya 6+ years prescribed by Charing Cross Hospital. In that time I have never been checked nor asked about skin, legions or checked for any form of skin cancer.
I vaguely remember when first being prescribed gilenya the increase risk in cancer, but I recall more the warnings about brain disease and the risk of stroke when taking first dose.
I’ve now had removed, 3 Basal cell legions and one very aggressive and invasive squamous cell carcinoma, with warnings from specialist to expect more. I now see on the Uk Gov advice when taking Gilenya your hospital team should check you for signs of skin legions every 6-12 months. Charing Cross have never even mentioned or reminded I should have been alert.
How can I get a little more care from my team at Charing Cross, I have asked continuously for nursing support as I have a number of other conditions that I don’t want to bother the Neurologist about (see 1 per year if lucky) but I hear other people have more regular support and someone they can get advice from when situations might occur throughout the year.
I don’t want to alienate Charing Cross by asking for more support but feel I am getting to the stage I need it.
Thanks for any advice.
