MS and ADHD meds
Hi all,
I wanted to ask in case any of you might already know or can point me in the right direction:
I have been looking into ADHD meds, in preparation for my upcoming assessment, and I wanted to see if there are reasons I can't take any of the meds available to me here in the UK. I may be unable to take stimulant medication due to potential heart and thyroid issues, so I figure I should look into the MS as well.
I'm currently taking Copaxone so, if there's any reason I shouldn't take any of the following (either due to MS itself or the medication interactions), please let me know.
- Methylphenidate (Ritalin/ Concerta)
- Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse/ Elvanse)
- Dexamfetamine (Adderall)
- Atomoxetine (Strattera)
- Guanfacine (Tenex/ Intuniv)
Thank you

Hey @Amalthea, i used ritalin for adhd and gp said it was fine. Neuro actually thought it could keep me from not running ahead of myself, triggering symptoms. But when i know i jùst need that little bit of bravado or energy when i'm standing in front of a classroom, i leave them pills at home.
I was recently prescribed Vyvanse for fatigue. My 2 most significant symptoms are dizziness and fatigue. The Vyvanse makes the dizziness a bit worse but is making a big difference with the fatigue. So far I'm really impressed and have no regrets.
