Update: Blue Badge/Buss Pass

All,

I have been very remiss in updating. I haven’t forgotten, I have been away from things for nearly 8 weeks and it keeps getting pushed back in my to-do list.

My recent return from Nepal has seen the flare-up of an infected root-canal and that exacerbates my MS on and 0ff.

One minute I am fine and can walk 20km (the last 5km were pretty grim) and the next I leap out of bed and collapse in a heap because my leg has decided to go on strike. It s a real bore.

Nonetheless, I am back on it. Rather bizarrely, I sent the letter to multiple recipients and not a single one even acknowledged receipt. That pisses me off so I am back on it today.

It turns out that a friend of a friend has a new job as a lawyer at my council and she has agreed to help guide me through the labyrinthine guts of the local government legal system.

Will report when I have something to say.

Chin-up.

Dom

PS: I cannot object highly enough to this bloody tooth. Very painful and apparently the infection messes with my MS. I am going to be in hock for a thousand quid to get it sorted by a specialist endodontist. NHS is theoretically feasible with a 5 month wait.

Dear Dominic,

You have my utmost sympathy, both with the pain and the expense (Aa night of drunken tomfoolery at university kept coming back to haunt me over the years, and ended up with a very painful bone graft and implant to finally put it right). If reincarnation does exist, I’m coming back as a dentist…

Bear up.

All the best.

Jon

As much as we wish for a universal health system that provides for all I do have to say that I’ve gained a new appreciation for our access to health care in the US. We have access…if you have the insurance or money…it can just get pretty expensive.

For issues that fuel MS flares you think they would know they need to resolve quickly to avoid very costly care. I’m an accountant so expect reactions that make financial sense…sigh…if they only did!

You promised a recap of Nepal…or at least I asked for one 😉 did I miss a post? been busy
