The Beginning

Recently just officially joined the MS gang and thought I would say hello. I have been looking around on the site and it looks really great and it’s pretty awesome that something like this exists and is so accessible for people that have MS.

I went from thinking I had Transverse Myelitis where I was told there was nothing that could be done and felt very abandoned, to being diagnosed with MS and having SO MUCH support AND treatment options. So although a lot of people were sad for me when they found out about my diagnosis, I feel quite positive about it, as it means that there is something that can be done and there is a huge support network out there.

Hence the title. I feel like this is the beginning. The beginning of things getting a bit better.

Hi @nadcarrots,

I was the same when I got diagnosed – not thrilled of course, but not sad. Once you know what the issue is you can start to do something about it!

This site will help you along your journey, be sure to reach out as and when you need to, we’re a great bunch.

Welcome to the club!

Hi @nadcarrots, and welcome. I see from your profile that you’re already on Ocrevus which is a flying start. It only became available in the UK last year. Let me tell you, having a positive outlook and spin is your best ally. Yes, it is the beginning of a new journey, maybe not the one you expected to be on but you have to focus on getting all the outcomes you set your sight on, personal, emotional and with health. You’ll be fine, and you’re in great company! 🙂

@birdoy @vixen

Thank you so much for your comments and warm welcomes! 🙂

Yes I was very impressed with the speed at which I was put on the treatment too! I have just had part 1 of my first infusion at the moment. Part 2 is on the 24th.

For the most part I like to think that I am reasonably positive about it all. Of course there are the odd days where that isn’t the case, but that’s to be expected.

I think I will like being a part of this club 🙂
