Tecfidera and magnesium

Hi there, the past few weeks i have been doing well on Tecfidera, except for lower back pain and constipation. I have been taking magnesium and though I would up my dose at night to 700mg, as I heard it could help with constipation.
Don’t think it was a good idea as, felt a bit rubbish and it set off some of my past symptoms on my left side 😒 , although my back felt better.
Any advise would be great on how much magnesium i can take and anything for lower back pain.
Thanks all, take care 😊

@samantha_wyles_van_zyl , the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for Magnesium for women is only 310/320 mg, unless you’re pregnant or lactating.

You need to understand the nature of your back pain. If it is muscular, you could try some gentle stretching. Although, could it be a kidney infection?

I would either consult your MS Nurse or GP regarding this.

@stumbler Thanks for the advice, I’m going to look more into it and speak to my MS Nurse.
