BRCA2 and RRMs

Evening all

My mother has the BRCA2 gene.

I am seeing my GP to arrange the counseling and test process.

RRMS has suddenly, convinced me to have the test.

There seems to be a link with MS.

Has anyone got some info.

All I can see is the mention of Lemtrada which I start R2 in June 19.

Thanks
Rich

@tallritchie , now that’s a diverse question, if ever I saw one! Anyway, I found this bit of research which may (or may not) be appropriate :-

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5596187/

You’re wise to understand what this may mean to you. Knowledge is power.

I tested negative for the BRCA2 mutation, and I have RRMS. That is just a piece of date for you.

I don’t know about my mother – but she did die of breast cancer. However, that was likely not genetic but rather caused by a hormone therapy she took while pregnant called Sibestrol. I think her BC was caused by that, because none of her 7 siblings or her mother’s family or any of my cousins have had breast cancers.

Wishing you well with your MS therapies.

Thanks sfrox for the best wishes

Am doing well after Lemtrada R1, just trying to be proactive 😀
