A wacky idea

Some of us might remember an episode of Ally McBeal where John Cage played by Peter MacNichol decides that he’s a better lawyer if 4 models walk around him like a forcefield.
I got to thinking then about how testosterone is neuroprotective in MS
(https://www.mdedge.com/multiplesclerosishub/article/134428/multiple-sclerosis/testosterone-affects-outcomes-men-ms)
So then I got to thinking about ways to increase testosterone, and the 2 ideas bumped into each other. How would I swing this? Have a half dozen models come through the local MS care centre every week maybe? I’d like to do a trial on it. Blood tests to see if it helps at all, lowers disability progression and so on. Anyone want to join in?

I had a go at trials 25 years ago when the first Avonex was on trial. Did 4 yrs with it and then NICE said yes. Great news and it’s still in use. Medicine does not move forward without trials, but I’m female and now on Tecfidera so probably no use to you but good luck✌🏼😜

I see no reason why we can’t study the magic Mike effect as well. So long as it’s in the next room of course. The major stumbling blocks I see so far are funding, location, staffing by accredited researchers, a complete lack of models (male & female) and no tea or biscuits.

I think you may be oversimplifying this somewhat.

Simple research is easy to understand. You mix sick people with attractive people and see if they get better. Most of us are barely qualified to put together ikea flatpack. This shouldn’t need to be complicated

Then you’re gonna fail, you need to make yourself feel better…you find what makes you tick and makes you happy.

Agreed. Richard Feynman used a technique similar to the one I suggest to make him a better physicist, only he used strippers and nudie bars. I’m interested to see if being in close proximity to people who I find attractive has any effect on MS and if it does then why. Also it’d be a great way to meet people πŸ˜€
