Balance

Been nearly 4 years since I was diagnosed with MS and I haven't had great balance for ages but lately it's getting worse I'm struggling to walk in a straight line and it takes a lot more effort to walk It doesn't help that I suffer with fatigue and get tired after I've been walking for a while now with the balance issues walking is getting harder even walking round the house I sometimes have to put my hand against the wall to support myself I'm not sure what to do
@potter

Tell us more about yourself, are you on a DMT, have you talked to your neuro or nurse ect. Potter

Hi sorry you are having problems with balance, I know the sudden realization that you have to start holding on to things to walk around the house, the staircase becoming the north face of the Eiger and the thought of needing a walking aid does come as a shock and is most upsetting. It would be beneficial to get yourself referred to see a physiotherapist either through your GP, nurse or neurologist. They can help a lot with posture, gait and balance and can give you some exercises to strengthen the right muscle groups to make things a little easier; they can also assess you to see if you would benefit from using a cane or some other aid.
