Barts research

Hi everyone Just for info Barts ms research blog. Professor Giovannoni who seems tireless in his search to get answers is asking for donations to raise funds for a reach project into use of anti viral drugs for ms. He needs 10k within the next two to three months It is very easy to donate and the amounts come up as £10. I am sure one could give more than that but that seems to be the initial level

Sorry research of course not"reach" predictive text nightmare !

@Stumbler

This research may provide a solution that may be too late for me. But I respect Prof G and his determination to find answers to MS. I've donated, will you?

@MsHackney

Def donated.

That was a better way to spend £10 on a Friday night than 2 bottles of wine which destroy me!

@orlando27 , if there is a firm basis for this research and Prof G does find the "holy grail", then it would take at least 10 - 15 years to bring a solution/vaccination to market. I'd be getting a bit "long in the tooth" to benefit...........

@cameron

@Stumbler, well, my neuro told me last time I saw him that there were drugs in development NOW for symptomatic treatment, so maybe you and me both will be taking them in the not too distant future! x

cameron

@cameron

@orlando27, he didn't elaborate. It was in the context of my relating/complaining that the sensory foot sensations that started last year had not gone away, despite my change of med from Copaxone to Gilenya. He'd said that in the beginning these symptoms had been a relapse and that it could take up to two years to disappear. He then added that even if they didn't go of their own accord there were drugs currently in development to treat persistent symptoms. I see him in April, so with any luck I'll get some more information then. xx
