Do You Get Vision Issues From MS? | Animated Symptoms series
In one in four cases of Multiple Sclerosis, the first noticeable symptom is a problem with one of your eyes. MS can affect vision in different ways including optic neuritis, uncontrolled eye movements, and double vision. Kirsty shares the experience of her first symptom in our latest Animated Symptoms video.

Hello Everyone. My first symptom was optic neuritis and I went totally blind in one eye. This was in 1980 and I had a two and a half year old and a seven month old baby. Extremely terrifying and I had no idea why I was being asked about other strange symptoms which were totally unconnected to my eyes. After a further attack and other seemingly strange symptoms I realised I might have M.S. I am now nearly 70 and have been fortunate as have been able to continue a reasonably "normal" life. Plenty of aches and pains, fatigue etc. etc. Needless to say back in the 1980's no one took much notice and I have been rather left to my own devices ever since. My biggest lesson in life has taught me to live in the moment. Back in my late 20's I was terrified I may not live to see my children grow up and here I am about to celebrate my 50th wedding anniversary! So everyone please try and stay as positive as possible, listen to your body and and ask for help whenever you need. it. Love to you all.
I needed to hear this right now. Thank you Karen!
