Inside Health - BBC Radio4 on EBV and MS
If you can access the BBC, this is an interesting and accessible explanation of the recent discoveries linking MS and Epstein-Barr Virus (mono/glandular fever): https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m00154bt

@scribe thanks for sharing. I put a link to a article about this around a month ago and there wasn't much discussion around it. I'm surprised no ones commented on this considering they've validated the link between EBV and MS. This is huge for us as a community!
@ralee yes it's really interesting. Huge opportunity for preventing MS in future, and possibility (although not certain) for treatment for those of us with it already. One thing I've noticed is people with MS saying "well I never had it so it can't be true" but a) the data and the underlying biological mechanism are compelling and b) you can have EBV without being noticeably ill. But still, because so many people do have it but.don't get MS, there's clearly more we need to figure out about the exact risks and pathways. But this is a huge step forward, imho
