Pneumococcal vaccine (PPV).... is it mandatory? (UK)

Hi folks... I am about to switch to B Cell therapy (Kesimpta or Ocrevus) and was wondering whether PPV vaccine is actually mandatory in the UK based on your experience (though I'd be interested in how this is approached in the rest of the world too)? I am being asked to get the PPV vaccine by my MS team but am somewhat reluctant as in my case covid vaccination seemed to coincide with new radiological activity after my MS was stable for years (could have been other reasons of course... but who knows as there seems to be some medical/academic evidence that MS may be reactivated in those with stable MS by covid vaccination). I am also relatively young and have not had to take antibiotics in the last 15 years (PPV helps with bacterial infections to the best of my understanding), so all of this makes me wonder if I can swerve this vaccine somehow...
@Steph7

I’m in Canada and that one wasn’t even mentioned to me. They were concerned my Covid boosters were up to date

@Puddycat_1

I’m age 36 and in Scotland and it’s been discussed as a choice for me because I brought it up. I’m asthmatic and get respiratory problems so I was advised to ask my MS team if I should get it by my asthma nurse. It was never mentioned before I asked. I’m not sure where you are in UK but It’s certainly not mandatory in Scotland for Ocrevus for someone my age
