@katiejj , having MS and autism shouldn't detract you from finding a job, according to the Government. But the reality might be a bit more difficult. Alongside what Stumbler says, you need to do a bit of soul-searching to find out what you like, what you're good at and what INTERESTS you. The more you enjoy work, the better you'll cope with any issues. However, I don't know many people of your age who have a clear idea of what they'll choose as a career! And as everyone knows, there is almost no such thing nowadays as a 'job for life'. Most people change jobs (and often, change direction) a number of times in their working life. The more flexible and multi-skilled you can be, the better your chances.. so I would say aim for the best school qualifications you can get in the short term, then try and add to them either by getting a degree or going for an apprenticeship. I always used to tell students to be guided by their interests, not by what other people (e.g. parents) would like them to do! With good qualifications under your belt and with the experience/life skills that come from living independently, you may decide on a career that would never have occurred to you at a younger age. If you really don't know where to begin with all this, ask your Careers/Guidance department to give you their questionnaires which can tease out your interests, aptitudes and abilities and match them to career pathways.
