My biggest bug bear of having MS.
The only thing that is my biggest bug bear of having MS, is it being an invisible disease. I was walking in town this morning with my stick and this woman looked at me as if to say 'why do you need a stick' or 'you look too young to use a walking stick. There's nothing wrong with you'. It makes my blood boil. One of these days I will ask what their problem is. I feel ridiculed. Sometimes I turn a blind eye and ignore it but today it's got to me. Does anyone else feel the same?
I'm 24 next week and I hate using my walking stick luckily no one said anything. I'm sorry people can't mind their own business. 🫂
There could be many reasons why she was looking at you, not necessarily to do with your stick. I went into town this morning and was busy eating OAP dust as they zoomed past me with their sticks! I try and work out why they have sticks, when they're so speedy. But then I quickly stop as I'm too busy concentrating on walking. The only time I wonder if folk are thinking something, is when they see me sitting on a priority seat at the front of the bus. As you say the invisible nature of MS can be a challenge sometimes. But they are always welcome to ask me, if they want.
