Unexpected fall
Was getting my work laptop out of my car, and my ankle turned and the next moment I hit the floor
Bit sore, but grateful I did not twist my ankle. Someone did come over and help me - which was nice
More worried I had no warning - not sure what I could have done
I have experienced falls. I have never received medical advice. My falls are always sudden. Very difficult to prevent. I guess working the abdominal muscles may help with balance. Working on balance and being aware of causes, if applicable. Unfortunately it cannot help with neurological damages 😢. A physiotherapist may be able to give advice. Staying in shape will give protection from falling, but won’t prevent. Taking an effective DMT to prevent further neurological damage 🤷♀️. Perhaps the MS nurse will be helpful. Falling is super scary. Hope you can find some help. All the best.
@deano The only thing you can do is 'tuck and roll'. I've had a number of falls, without warning and all you can do is try and land safely and try not to hit your head on anything. With years of playing Rugby and fighting in Battle Reenactments, I've had plenty of experience of falling over. I just tell others that if I fall, then to leave me to it as I don't want them to get hurt trying to stop me.
