Late onset MS newbie introduction

Hi all. Just a quick hello to ease myself in gently. I’m 56 years old and have been hovering for six years, and cannot believe I’m actually posting anything on this platform, but hey ho, here we are! Initially diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis in 2018 and have been stable since then. Latest MRI in Sept 2023 shows solitary lesion enlargement, and with the onset of new symptoms, diagnosed with RRMS in March 2024. My life has been on hold since 2018, and now it’s high time that I take charge of it again. Looking forward to sharing experiences and support with fellow MSers, and meeting others in support groups. Phew! All done now.

Hi I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis & symptoms. I'm a similar age to you & have been having symptoms since about 2019 too! I've recently had my ms confirmed by a consultant I went to for a 3rd opinion! Not sure what type I have as I don't seem to have had obvious relapses nor progression 🤷‍♀️ Have you been offered any treatment?

Hi @Liz1966 , I too am sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis. I have been offered Ocrevus and Kesimpta, but haven’t decided on either yet. To be honest, it all feels like a whirlwind, and I’m having some difficulty accepting it all. If you don’t mind me asking, on diagnosis, what McDonald criteria were met? In absence of a relapse or symptoms, did you have any radiological changes i.e. MRI showing new lesions or active inflammation?
