Capaxone

Hi everyone, I started Capaxone on Tuesday this week after a nurse came out to show me how to use the auto injector. It went well and I thought I got the hang of it after a practise shot then the actual shot followed. I came to take my 2nd dose today and I’m not going to lie I panicked because only half of the liquid from the syringe went in and I stupidly put the remainder in myself in the same spot. I now know there’s a warning right at the end of the leaflet telling you not to do this! Only realised this after I’d done it. I immediately called the MS nurse helpline up and they said they would call me in the morning. I am now terrified in case I have damaged myself because of doing it wrong?! I feel completely stupid and wish I’d have got my mum around to help me with my first solo one or something ☹️ It’s been about 2 hours and just a little bit red with a tiny bump where the injection site is like the one I had on Tuesday so I’m hoping everything is okay!

I did something similar when I started my Copaxone two years ago! I remember the Nurse showing me how to manually inject and I brushed it off, thinking that I’ll never do that… Fast forward two years I only manually self inject. I honestly think you should be fine and to keep in mind this whole starting process is nerve-racking. hopefully your nurse will help to quell your fears.

Thanks for your reply! Funnily enough I looked at the pen and new I would forget how to use it straight after the nurse went home 🤣I think it’s definitely going to be easier manually for me as well I think. X
