Driving after Optic Neuritis

So, I haven't driven a car in years, was never a confident driver and since optic neuritis never even tried getting behind the wheel.My vision recovered mostly in one eye but not completely in the other. I am not sure how to go back to driving. Do I have to tell DVLA or take another test?
@HappyHen

@Mani, it is a long process as you need to apply to DVLA and then obtain opticians or GP letter. These licence applications are not done online so it is all paper based. Mine took 9 months, during which time you cannot drive. Then the licence will probably be valid for 3 years. There are no charges for the licence. You have to have declared all this to your insurer otherwise you won't be insured. My insurance was less than previously!
