Gilenya

Hi there, I was wondering what the criteria for being prescribed Gilenya was. Is it for anyone with RRMS or only after other DMD's are ruled out? I want to ask my neuro about it but want to be prepared because the visits a yearly. Thanks

It's been suggested that Gilenya will only be considered once you have unsuccessfully tried one of the other DMDs for a year. You can but raise the subject.....

Also if you are thought to have rapidly evolving RRMS, (2 disabling relapses in a year and an increase in disease activity on two consecutive MRI's) then you would be eligible for treatment with Gilenya.
