Help with weight loss
Hi
I was diagnosed just before covid hit so its bot been an easy journey since then.
I know I desperately need to lose weight to help me cope with the ms better but no matter what I eat I can't lose it.
Im about 3 stone over where I should be. I don't eat badly and I try to do as much exercise as possible but do struggle. Is anyone having similar issues?
I was diagnosed during Covid lockdown too and my mobility was severely limited as a result of nine relapses back to back in the space of a few days. I have gained weight and am gaining more as I have been having seizures since diagnosis - eplilim is controlling those well but they have a side effect of weight gain too. Physio helped to get me walking again but it has been sheer bloody determination to keep working at it and no two days are quite the same. I have a support worker who has helped me access my local gym and I was there just recently for an assessment to see what, if anything, I could do safely. I went for my first session and while it is daunting how limited I am and the weaknesses I have that I didn’t before - but it feels good to be doing even a little to feel like I’m taking some action to control my weight. Persistence, patience and acceptance that it will be a struggle is what is keeping me going at the minute. Was there today and am totally exhausted but it feels like a worthwhile exhaustion. If that makes sense.
Sorry to hear how much you have been struggling. Im glad to hear your are positive though. Keep up the great work.
