Disability is often misunderstood by the non-disabled, a.k.a. healthy segments of our society. More often than not, persons without disability perceive disability as something that is negative and undesired, although disabled people themselves do not necessarily share that belief. Disabled people who are comfortable with their physical/mental/emotional limitations can contribute greatly to society. Google the names Steven Hawking, Frida Kahlo, Andrea Bocceli, Michael J Fox and of course, Albert Einstein. Who do you know that contributes to society despite their disability?
