Cruising trip

Morning folks. Hope everyone is keeping well. My mum has always wanted to go see the Northern Lights and all being well, we hope to go early next year with the P&O cruise liner My mum is wheelchair dependent so we thought it may be a bit difficult. Has anyone had any cruising trips while in a wheelchair or even folks with reduced mobility? It's going to cost a fair few ££ so we would like to know if we would get the right kind of support while on the boat. Obviously accessibility is the most important for us, as well as the facilities onboard. Spoke to a P&O agent and they are reassuring, but would be nice to get some feedback from some folks who've been there and done that if you know what I mean :) Thanks in advance.

@frankyjack , this is a question that I have wanted to ask. I view cruiseships as the most logistically convenient type of holiday. You get onboard and your chosen destinations are brought to your hotel bedroom. And, there's a Doctor onboard. What's not to like? But, you might want to refer to this website. Yes, it's a specialised Travel Agent, but the FAQs are a useful guide :- http://www.disabledcruiseclub.co.uk

A cruise will be amazing for her! They have accessible rooms, and typically many of the excursions are for people with reduced mobility. Even if she never leaves the ship she’ll have a great time because there is so much to do.
