New Meds: Rebif Vs Avonex

Hey guys! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here. Truthfully I haven’t been well, I was on copaxone and that wasn’t working for me so I came off of it in April. Now my neuro wants me to choose between Rebif and Avonex. Does anyone have experience with either of those DMTs?
@Clary

Hi I don’t know much about Rebif, but I took Avonex for a short time (short because I didn’t last). Avonex is 30% effective, it is an intramuscular injection once a week. Serious Side effects are low. Short term side effects after injection can be flu like symptoms. Injection side effects are low because it is deep into muscle. It is a good drug during the pandemic because it doesn’t suppress the immune system. It works by tightening the blood brain barrier and stopping cytokines from entering and causing MS damage. It has been used since early 1990s and has a good safety profile. It may be more effective than first thought over long term use. Hope you can get some information about Rebif. Charities are really helpful for drug information. Good luck 🤞.

@Emilyvizza I'm the same as @Clary. Was on Avonex for about 3 months, didn't really get on with it, then went into a clinical trial for 5 years, and I'm now on Gilenya (Fingolimod).
