I was talking to my GP and asked him how I could ensure 111 or an Out Of Hours (OOH) service know the extent of my immunosuppression. He said: << "I'd suggest if you're happy what we could do, is turn on your additional information sharing. it means that if you have call 111/OOH GP they have all the relevant medical details for you, which should be helpful to them in knowing your immunosuppressed background. It's called the enhanced summary care record. Let me know if you want this turning on. " >> I told him to go ahead and turn it on. I am saying it here because I had no idea that this information about me wasn't automatically available and that I had to give my express permission. It may be worth checking out your status with your GP.
