Treatment Options

HI there, Dee696 here, new to this site and only diagnosed since September this year. I've had the main symptoms last 5 years or so though confusing as were mild till diagnosis, then like a red flag to a bull and though no bull, I'm as angry as one. Anyway, the treatment decided is Gilenya which has yet to begin. I'm nervous about going on any chemicals and the many side effects and ideally would welcome a chance to explore a more holistic/herbal route so would appreciate hearing from members as regards both types and success rate. I'm not sure how long I may have MS and will take whatever steps possible to keep me as well for as long as possible. Please help. Thanks, Kind regards, Dee696.

Hi Dee, There are lots of different options regarding treatments and as many different opinions, I would advise you to look into all of them and choose the one you feel is right for you. I also decided to go down the natural/nutrition route for personal reasons and I haven't regretted it as I've stayed relapse free for 4 years now but it's a decision only you can make. I follow the advice from Dr George Jelinek, you can read more about it at www.overcomingms.org and I believe you should also be able to get the book for free from the site. You could also take a look at www.terrywahls.com If you do decide to take DMDs there is nothing stopping you also following the lifestyle recommendations. Just remember that whatever you decide to do, it's your decision and no one else's, so read everything and make your choices informed and don't let yourself be bullied into anything you're not comfortable with. Good luck x

Hi, I also follow the natural route and haven't had any relapses in over 4 years and just take natural drugs due to having terrible side affects with DMD treatment it is a very personal thing what treatment to take good luck with whatever you decided to take.
