MRI Results 🫣

I got my MRI results from mychart, so my doctor has not reached out yet. Possible subtle FLAIR hyper signal in the dorsomedial aspect of both thalami but also around Sylvius aqueduct and on both sides of the third ventricle. Question is... Are all flairs lesions? Thank you in advance to anyone used to reading MRI results... lots of words and no real meanings for me

No not all hyper intense foci are lesions - they can be caused by other diseases, migraines, or simply aging. However multiple spots in keeping with a clinical history of MS, particularly if they are showing activity with contrast is likely indicative of MS. Periventricular (next to ventricles) is very suggestive of MS. However for diagnosis, you would still need to meet the McDonald criteria. https://mstrust.org.uk/a-z/mcdonald-criteria
