New friends

Hey guys! I feel like I have lost a lot of friends since starting the diagnosis journey last November l because I don’t want to socialise with anyone. Or at least, if I do hang out with people I just want to sit there in quiet and not talk much. Quite simply, I’m not that fun anymore (some say I never was 😂). Anyway, since coming across shift.ms I feel like I have just gained 25,000 plus new friends. I’m sure I wont ever get to talk to everyone but I will give it a shot. I used to love travelling, and guess I still do. The longest journey I have done since diagnosis was a five hour car journey which tired me out quite a bit. Still, I don’t want that to stop me doing what I love. Right, to the point I want to make. I want to meet my fellow shift.ms family. I am happy to open the doors to my home should you ever fancy a visit to sunny Hull. I would also love to travel to far flung places all over the world to meet you guys as well. If anyone wants to get involved please let me know! Much love to everyone! You guys are all awesome!!

Keep the travelling bug alive if you can. I am off to Croatia in a week! Does wonders for your mind getting away from home for a bit. However near or far :)

@alexj, I agree! It’s hard being fun, or even being around other people’s fun, when you’re trying to come to terms with this diagnosis. But it’s important to keep doing things that feel right for you. I’ve kept visiting my family, and travelling a bit with work. I wasn’t sure I’d manage at first, but it’s been ok. Look out for local Shift meet ups, and keep making your plans. Good luck!
