Mri and Ocrevus

Hi all. When I was diagnosed last feb I was originally put on 6 monthly MRI, after my last MRI in August there was more activity so I was started on ocrevus and I’m so thankful. I go in for my 2nd half dose next week. So once I started my treatment I was moved to a different area closer to home. Just to be cautious because it had happened prior that information wasn’t being passed on from one hospital to the other I contacted my local hospital to check if my name was on the list for an mri and it was. But the consultant had put the request for the mri in as ‘routine’ and where I live the waiting list for a routine mri is well over a year so I explained my situation and had the request changed to ‘planned’ so I’m booked for one for the end of this month. But my question is will I need one now? Or once you start ocrevus do you go to yearly anyway? I don’t want to waste a space on an already brutal waiting list. I’m going to contact my ms nurse to see if she can answer that. Or should I just go on ahead and get it while I have the opportunity

@hlyndar89 , that's a tough question that requires a crystal ball to answer, but it's good of you to consider the over-stretched resources of the NHS. You really have to play it by ear. If a scan comes back as "No Evidence of Disease Activity" (NEDA), then you could consider extending the review period. Once you and your MS team become confident of the efficacy of the Ocrevus, you could consider stopping the MRIs all together. This needs to be a decision agreed by all, with a proviso to restart them quickly if your body suggests unwelcome activity.

Would you, or your doctor, feel more comfortable if you knew that there hasn't been activity since you started Ocrevus? That is what I am hoping to find out in my one in the spring at the time of first full infusion of Ocrevus. I'm in the US and there are lots of machines around so not so much of a resource issue here-
