Mri

Has anyone had MRI with results describing calcification? Just curious. I am having brain and spine mri on Monday. My last MRI was in 2012 as I had a severe seizure. I have been told in t he past I have minor scar tissue on my brain from viral encephalitis, so these two tiny spots of 'calcification or old haemorrhage' may be that. Just don't know how lesions are described. Thanks!!

@sarah_williams , I could suggest that you read something technical like this. But both of us would probably not understand what it is really saying. And it could scare the pants of us for no reason :- https://radiopaedia.org/articles/multiple-intracranial-calcifications?lang=gb Just accept that radiographers speak in technobabble, to point out features for the Consultant to interpret as best they can. As far as I'm concerned, what looks like "smudges" on their photograph, may mean something to them.......

Lesions are usually described as areas of demyelination. Calcification usually occurs when there has been some cell death and the pumps on the cell surface cause an accumulation of calcium where the cell used to be (our cells use it to function) so it could be from when you had your seizure or like you say if you have scar tissue that implies some cell damage x
