@Rob-D

I am due to attend a two day conference in Manchester this week and there are 800 people attending from all over the UK. I am on cladribine and after reading the update do you think it will be a good idea not to attend?

@DominicS

Gosh, Roy. As Prof G says, these are things to discuss with your neurologist. I don't think anyone here, a qualified neuro or not, would presume to give individual advice. Cladribine is right up there at the top of the list as one of the potentially most likely to put you at additional risk therapies. If it were me I'd have serious reservations, and I am reasonably risk tolerant. What you can't account for is other people. You are relying on them to a certain extent. Would you trust all 800 of them with your health and possibly your life? It is spread through contact. Large groups have a far higher potential for one infected person (think transport to get there, all the staff that attend to the smooth running of the event, the hotel, the staff and guests at the hotel, the international nature of our lifestyles these days and so on). If, as a cladribine patient, you can answer all those to your satisfaction the have at it. I am not offering any medical advice, just a summation of the obvious risks, and trying to apply them against the risk on the list from Prof G. That is all.
