Drug options

Hi all,

Hope you’re all doing ok.

I need some advice please.
I had my second lot of ocrevus in October last year & was due another dose next month but have decided we would like another baby so have been advised to not go ahead with the ocrevus as it’ll set us back in trying for another 12 months & go for either avonex or copaxone – to me whose not been on either treatment thinks they both look very similar in side effect & effectiveness. Has anyone tried either of them/both & had a preference?

Thanks 😊

@mich
Under your post above you’ll see some boxes relating to the DMTs you mentioned.
Click on them and it’ll take you to other posts made about them.
Hope it helps.

@mich , I believe that Copaxone is the DMT of choice for those wishing to start a family.

@mich – there is no other option than Copaxone (Glatiramer Acetate) if you are trying to conceive. If you go onto the Shiftms YouTube channel and navigate to the MS Reporters (part of Shift) from there I believe they have some video specifically discussing pregnancy and MS.

In the UK I know for sure that Glatiramer Acetate is the only option as a DMT if you are trying to conceive.

Best of luck.

I was on Copaxone for many years…not because I liked it or was trying to conceive but basically that was about all there was. As stated that is basically your option if you are considering pregnancy- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sd69KmEpsWM&t=50s

Good luck!
