Cortisone & Corona Virus

I've been resisting getting cortisone over the last few weeks as this would deplete my immune system further. I was wondering what they guidance was around this. Is there any alternatives to cortisone to handling a relapse during the outbreak?

@uinceann Great qu. This was discussed in detail my experts on an MS Academy conference call yesterday. It is by and for doctors but no reason you/we can't listen. - I can't remember the timestamp for it and as I have had a busy day I am, frankly, too knackered to find it. - The short answer is no. - If you want to know more, listen to the webcast. - https://multiplesclerosisacademy.org/2020/03/19/webinar-prof-giovannoni-managing-ms-remotely-during-the-covid-19-pandemic/

@uinceann , steroids are taken to address the inflammation and therefore reduce the length of the relapse and allow recovery to commence. The actual outcome of the recovery, i.e. how much of the relapse symptoms are reversed, is normally the same whether steroids are taken or not. So rest up and allow your body to get on with it.
