Coldness in limbs

Hi. I’m Piper. I have PPMS. I’ve never experienced a remission. This month has been extremely frightening because at 1st, it was just my right foot getting cold..(noticeably much colder to the touch)..(not the numb-like feeling as much). Now, by midday, the coldness has reached just up above my knee. This last week and a half, I’ve also been experiencing coldness on the outer sides of my arms & now, I’m beginning to have these cold patches move into the outer sides of my torso. Last night was particularly scary because it felt as if the coldness was at the bottom part of my heart, as well as in my throat. However, it has primarily began happening in my limbs. Has anyone even heard of this, much less experience it?

@piper , I assume these cold patches are just feelings, rather than physically having cold patches.

Sensory symptoms are part and parcel of MS. It’s where the messages to and from the brain aren’t being received correctly. The following explanation might help :-

No.. I wish that were the case. For example, my right foot, up to my thigh is moderately cooler than the left. As well as the outsides of my arms and now torso & throat. Thank you for this information though. Much appreciated!

And most of the physical coolness is in the sides of my torso.. Not throughout the entire torso.

I’ve got rrms, was diagnosed in january but had been experiencing symptoms for about 5years.

I’ve realised that most of the time if I think I’m cold or hot it IS just me.
I only started the ball rolling with drs etc when I was waking up with no feeling in either of my legs and limped in zig zags.

It’ll be alright mate, you gotta roll with it.

I also have PPMS and I know exactly what you’re talking about. Some days my legs are ice and I’ve notice if I wear longer socks it helps .I’m not sure but it helps me a lot of the time.

I had a massage yesterday, my hands and feet felt freezing. It does a lot of the time. Might ask him to put fan heater on or cover my feet with a towel.

Thank you for the responses. I went to my neurologist this morning and he was a bit perplexed. He said it could be a circulating problem due to some nerves causing my blood vessels to contract/ spasm. Nonetheless, he’s sending me to a Specialist at UAB right away..
