2nd MRI

Hello I'm looking for some advice please regarding MRI with and without contrast. Following my MRI in January without contrast I've been diagnosed with probable Ms My neurologist has requested a 2nd mri to compare with the original one and then a lumber puncture . He has said if the lumber puncture does not show any bands he will still diagnosis probable Ms and that this procedure isn't urgent. The second MRI was scheduled for July but I've not received an appointment to date and due to ongoing problems I've arranged a private MRI of brain and c spine but I dont know if this should be with contrast or not ? I left a message for my ms nurse on Monday to check this but she hasn't contacted me yet and my appointment for MRI is on Wednesday . Should I contact Neuro secretary instead ? Thanks

Mutley64!!! I call my husband mutley as he does the laugh and he was born in 64. As to your question, it is the lumber puncture that you need. My advice after it is to stay lying down for an hour or two as you will get a headache otherwise. You don't say what your symptoms are. Not knowing is the worrying part, once you know, you can deal with it.

Thanks @sprout my dog was called Mutley 🤣 I don't know when I will have the lumber puncture as Neurologist said it's not urgent and I'm on the waiting list but that I needed a 2nd mri after 6mths to check if any changes . I just wondered why some MRI are with contrast and some without and I'm trying to make sure I arrange the right one I will try my ms nurse again tomorrow and if all else fails contact my Neurologist secretary It is difficult being in limbo with this Thanks for your reply
