Relapse during pregnancy

Hello :o) I'm 23 weeks pregnant, having a baby boy an yesterday went into relapse and can't feel my left leg. It's meant to be the only time when I'm guaranteed no ms effects... Anyone else had the same bad luck as me? X

Congratulations. Now is this definitely a relapse as defined here :- http://www.mssociety.org.uk/what-is-ms/types-of-ms/relapsing-remitting-rrms#what ? I'm just wondering whether this is an existing symptom that has just been "irritated", i.e. a pseudo-exacerbation, by being over-tired or possibly a run-of-the-mill infection?

@lornies

Hiya I just registered on here today but been lurking for a little while! I'm 29 weeks having a boy too & had 4 relapses since march. Pregnancy hormones do give some reduction in relapses but mainly in the third trimester. 2/3 months after birth will see the hormones drop and possible relapse around that time. I feel that I recovered quite quickly from my last 2 relapses which I put down to the hormones so being pregnant probably did help a bit in that way although I've been left with numbness & blurry vision to the extent that I can't drive. Also the fatigue is really getting to me. Here's hoping I have alot more energy once the baby is born! Make sure you get back on a dmd as soon as poss after the baby is born. All the best
