Hi everyone. How many relapses before you guys started meds? I'm very reluctant and quite frankly petrified.
@Stumbler

@lauralou , you have to feel comfortable with what you're doing and why. Disease Modifying Drugs (DMDs) are offered as a way to reduce the frequency and severity of relapses. Each DMD has the risk of dangerous side effects, but you will be constantly monitored to mitigate these risks. But, do your own research so that you are aware of the facts. There's probably some useful information here :- http://www.mstrust.org.uk/shop/product.jsp?prodid=90

Thanks Stumbler. I have had 2 cases of optic neuritis. Both were pretty mild in a four year period. An active area showed up on a recent MRI. I have 2 small boys and I'm scared the meds will do more harm. Ugh. I just don't know what to do :/
