Hi, my name is james. Probably have a million questions for you all. Just where to start. Started tecfidera 4 days ago. Even though there is no diagnosis of ms as of yet. Its still a "strong suspicion." So, we went along with the dmd. I will further introduce myself as time goes on. I have a question, but ill start a new topic....
Hi @jr403 and welcome. Well, you've been hanging around for quite a long time without a formal diagnosis, which is unforgivable. If your Neuro is out of their depth, then they should say so and point you in the direction of an MS Specialist. It shouldn't be down to your Doctor to prescribe a DMT. This should be the subject of a discussion between you and your Consultant. I'm afraid, I have no knowledge of your healthcare system in Canada, so hopefully one of our Canadian members might be able to help with a way forward.
Thanks for understanding my frustration. But there is kind of two sides to every story. He was good when i first started seeing him. It was until i decided not to start a dmt when first started to see him. It was a cold shoulder ever since. I think he specializes in strokes. I did tell my gp the concerns i had with my neuro, and he did try to find me another one. In the end, the ms board said, no, stick to the original neuro. No second opinions here, i guess. The only way i can see a different neuro is to move, it seems.
