Exercise - Whey Protein

To support my running I use whey protein powder (mixed with water) to aid in muscle recovery. I know milk for example has been 'linked' with dodgy proteins in it. My question is, can whey proteins have anything of a similar impact?
@CaptainKristoff

Not sure about other people, but I personally take a lot of protein as I go to the gym a lot. I have a whey protein when I wake, one bofore the gym, one straight after, a tub of Quark before bed for the slower release casein protein and eggs, tuna, chicken etc in meals. Now that I'm functioning again I'm trying to get back all the muscle I lost, one stone of muscle gained back since Jan, one more to go!

Mine is just for muscle repair after running, usually have one after the run, one in the evening after, and probably another 1 or 2 the following day (usually run every other day) so quite a lot. But the protein in milk can cause attacks on the myelin sheath apparently, just wondered if whey protein could do the same.
