Achy legs?

Do any of you have achy legs from time to time? I can't figure it out. They were really sore yesterday, like I had exercised too much. I did go kayaking the other day but that doesn't involve the legs so that can't be it. When I go up a few flights of stairs at work (which I try to do every day), last week it was no problem. This week, they're burning by the time I get to the top. I get that I need to exercise more, sure. But I don't understand why one day they ache and the next they're fine, then a few days later they ache, then they're fine. I've read about spasticity. Is that it? They're not stiff in what I consider stiff... they're just achy & sore like I've just done a hard, hilly hike without any training. ??

I was just having those symptoms of achy legs when I tried doing some research and found this site. I have been on a steady workout routine lately but it's not that sore leg feel after a good few days of working out. It's more like throbbing/nerve pain. Drives me crazy! It just comes and goes. Can't figure out if I'm doing something or what. More research I guess.

I'm sitting here trying to decipher whether my legs are achy or throbbing like yours, but I think they're just achy. I do have one particular spot on the outside of my right thigh that hurts like hell - it's been like that for months, mostly when I first get up & start walking. I think, from talking with somebody about it awhile ago, it's not MS but something about the way I sit on the couch and work on my needlepoint. Which I don't do that often, really. Hmmm. My legs are always a little stiff when I first get up - legs and lower back. Doesn't matter if I've been sitting 2 minutes or 2 hours, or if I've been very active or sedentary. I have pretty bad arthritis in my low back so that's not surprising, but the legs are different, and this seems to come & go. They're just really tired, but I haven't done anything to make them tired. And when I go up even one flight of stairs, they burn - which is stupid, I go up & down stairs all the time. Frustrating. I'd like to do stuff without everything hurting.
