Subtle Myelin Damage May Occur Before In

Something my Neurologist has mentioned before .. that autoimmune which causes myelin damage could actually be preceded by something else. We're now seeing there are studies looking at it. This may open up new areas for prevention and cure .. https://multiplesclerosisnewstoday.com/2018/05/09/subtle-myelin-damage-may-occur-before-inflammatory-reactions-ms-study/

Interesting for someone with widespread longstanding lesions with no typical MS symptoms. I’m classed as having benign MS. Let’s see how this unfolds...

Actually it does make sense. PPMS for eg. not so much of autoimmune (if at all any) but gradual decline from start. If we were to put all MS types in the same basket, this theory could be starting point of MS (all varieties). Severity of Myelin damage caused initially before the auto-immune reactions may then dictate the MS type ? I could be off completely with my limited knowledge!
