Gilenya and PML

My neuro has recommended gilenya, as I have failed rebif. I tested positive for JCV and I'm concerned about the risk of PML. The symptoms of PML are identical to my daily MS symptoms. I understand and that the risk of developing PML is low, but it's really got me concerned and I can't seem to shake it. My doctor and I have discussed other options but PML will be a risk factor with any treatment suitable for my specific MS. Anyone have experience with JCV+ and/or PML?

hello, i am also JCV+ thats why i didnt get Tysabri. I had Gylenia after Rebif, but it didnt work for me as i had severak relapses one week after starting with Gylenia. Nevertheless i know many people my age who are on Gylenia and they are doing very well. wish you all the luck at your decision

Hi, I'm Jc+ and chose to go on Tysabri, to be honest I was so unwell all the time that in my opinion, standard of life was more important! After 4 years of being on Tysabri and having so symptoms what so ever of MS (it really was my miracle juice!) my neuro took me off because of the risk of PmL, she put in on Gilenya but I failed that, so now I'm on Lemtrada, the risks are no less scary, but I'm hopeful it will give me a standard of life back, I always was and still am prepared to take the risks xx
