DVLA D202 form??

I've been sent a letter from the DVLA saying that my current driving licence will be withdrawn and replaced with a 3 year medical licence, and I have to send off my current licence to them... can I still drive??? They have just said they'll send me forms 3 months before my new med licence is due to expire to renew, but I don't know if I am allowed to drive in the interim. Anyone else gone thru this and can advise?
@Alexr76

I’ve been through this and had my driving assessed by an nhs driving agency I kept my manual licence with hgv 1&2 and m/bike entitlement on it but also had a medical license condition put on it for 3yesrs ,this has since been renewed , I still drive my automatic car but choose not to drive hgv’s ,you are still permitted to drive whilst waiting for the DVLA to issue your medical license ,think it’s some rule they have !..deffo inform your insurance company of your diagnosis and your good to go ! S all the best.

@Alexr76 really?? Oh man I'm so relieved, I have no issues driving but the wording of it all just worried me! Tescos in the loop and I drive an auto too! Thanks man!
