Ms hugs

Hi! I've been officially diagnosed with MS last month, however they suspected i have ms since 2019, when i had my first flare up. Ever since my second and last one in february this year, i've been getting ms hugs. I never felt pain, just tightness around my chest, felt like a really tight bra. Last week, however, i got this intense pain in my ribcage. It started when i woke up, got worse during the day, it got REALLY intense in the end, i couldn't even take a deep breath, but the next day there was no sign of pain. Could this be an ms hug or was this something else? I first suspected it was something else, but i don't think anything else could just 100% disappear during the night. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Anyone had anything similar happen? Thank you! 🀎

Yes hun I do but mine only last a short time and that sounds friggin horrendous!!!!! The best way I can describe mine is like a wide resistance band is placed around the top/middle of my rib cage but instead of the band being made of flimsy stretchy plastic it’s thick and hard like a huge industrial sized thick rubber band that is continually being tightened and flicked. It winds u and takes ur breath away it hurts to breathe so I end up holding my breath for extended periods (bare in mind I’m human and not superman so it varies πŸ˜‚) and it normally brings a tear to ur eye erm kinda like a stitch on steroids but Thankfully mine don’t normally last that long and nothing like a day. My ms nurse suggested that when it happened I should have contacted them so they could rule out anything (just in case don’t panic) probably for reassurance more than anything not that I really needed it and to update ur symptom record. but ur ms nurse could then recommend & update ur neuro who could prescribe something if u want it to take when needed Dont know if this has helped in anyway hope it has and take care of urself ✊πŸ’ͺπŸ€žπŸ‘πŸ˜Š

@Runningonempty thanks! I'll make sure to let them know! Hope this won't be a regular occurrence, it was not pleasant at all. πŸ˜…
