MS and pregnancy?

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here for a while but I'm hoping some of you can help me out with some real life info. I am currently 4 months pregnant and saw my MS nurse today who told me that it is likely I will be put under 'dual care' with a consultant neurologist for my pregnancy and birth. She also said this would probably mean I would have to give birth in hospital (rather than a midwife led unit) and would be unable to have a water birth. I'm wondering what people's experiences of being pregnant and giving birth with MS are. Did you find that it affected these types of decisions? How did you feel during birth - nurse said I'm likely to fatigue more quickly which I hadn't even thought of. I was diagnosed just over 2 years ago but have been generally well since then. Any info or advice will be much appreciated, thanks everyone. Anna

I found that having ms caused quite a bit of difficulty during my pregnancy. I ended up on bedrest and had to have a hospital birth. And I got very fatigued during labor so much so that after hours of trying they took her with c section! But she is sooo worth it! Hope this helps. I DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE YOUR LITTLE ONE IN THE HOSPITAL!

I didn't know I even had Ms when I was pregnant but I did and my pregnancy was pretty much the same as my non Ms friends. I would have to say my fatigue level was the only thing really affected where literally I hibernated like a bear. My bladder has taken a hit from having a child and the Ms definitely does not help. Try to get back on meds after your pregnancy as I did have what I know now as a relapse. Enjoy the new baby and best wishes!
