Treatment waiting time.

Hello. I’m newly diagnosed with RRMS. I have been seen by MS consultant a week ago who recommends I should probably start my treatment with Tysabri. I am just curious how long does it take to begin the treatment after you had a consultation? (I’m based in UK)

It took me 7 weeks as I had to wait for the JCV test result, and there was Christmas in between as well. Have you you had your JCV done? Having said that times seem to vary across different hospitals with some people waiting good few months. Also, it's a team of doctors who will approve your treatment, not just your consultant so that also adds to things.

Hiya. It was about 3 months for me. I was diagnosed, then had a further MRI within a few weeks, then it took some time for the appointment to come through.
